I agree with the above on Tioman.
ReplyDeleteTioman really is ever so blissful. We were there several times, but we simply can't get enough of it. It's got lovely beaches and so much lush jungle. And its wildlife must surely be the most pure and authentic in Malaysia, on account of its geographic isolation.
We saw dozens of exotic species of fish and sea mammals. We even saw a huge whaleshark once on a scuba trip! Well, we were on a scuba trip and the whale shark was migrating along the coast. Turtles we saw plenty too. and the visibility around Tioman can be up to 40 meters!
I recommend visitors take a jungle hike, as you almost feel like you're in the movie Jurassic Park. The jungle is spectacular, almost unbelievable. Even the creatures you encounter, appear a throw-back to ancient times. We discovered millipedes that were over a foot in length, as well as a kind of mouse deer and various odd-looking monkey. It was a unique experience.
I think Tioman is an entire holiday in itself. The people, the food, the setting, all of it was a typical case of Tioman boleh :)
To get to Tioman, you can go by plane by "Berjaya Air" or by ferry by "Tioman Ferry Tickets".
